Preaching in a Pandemic

The Rhetoric of the Black Preaching Tradition, Volume II

A two-volume collection of 29 sermons delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic by preachers within the Black preaching tradition. Through these sermons, the editors explore how clergy addressed their congregations during the crisis, examining how COVID-19 was woven into their messages and what forms—such as womanist, prophetic, narrative, contemplative, or expository—their sermons took in a time of uncertainty. Each volume includes detailed introductions that provide context and highlight recurring themes, offering valuable insight for students and scholars of Communication and Religious Studies.

Media Highlights

Nicole’s voice and vision have reached both national and global platforms. She has spoken at the Parliament of the World’s Religions and the Sisters in Solidarity International Conference for Religious Leaders in Ghana, as well as numerous churches, conferences, and community forums.
